Top Gears supercar of the year 2015; it doesn’t get much better than the 488 GTB from Ferrari. Successor to the game changing 458 the twin turbo charged 488 delivers knock out performance and delivers it with absolute precision and purpose.
The Ferrari record breaking 3.9 litre twin turbo V8 engine delivers 661 BHP and a colossal 561 ft.Ib’s of torque requiring the engineers to limit the delivery in early gears. There is no lack of drama either and despite the restriction of noise associated with turbo charged engines the 488 GTB is ferocious and thunderous under load.
This is a privately sourced car belonging to a friend of JRL and has been meticulously maintained – for sale to make room for a Spyder the car presented with Rosso Corsa with Crema interior has just been serviced at Ferrari and has been kept as new.
Configured with the following factory options (over £20k); Sport seat lifter, Goldrake carbon racing seats, front parking sensors, reverse camera, Scuderia paint shields, sports sill covers, 20” unmarked Matt Grigio Corsa forged wheels, carbon fibre steering wheel with LED’s, contrast stitching, FNEN functional equipment.
Why the 488 GTB? In Rossa Corsa and Crema this is the dream Ferrari for almost all petrolheads.
The 3rd generation Ford Focus RS must be the best yet? All wheel drive and 345 BHP delivered via a very smart drive system. 4 driving modes and a sense of occasion both inside the car and outside thanks to huge grills and purposeful spoilers. The 2.3 Ecoboost engine is irrepressible and never fails to deliver in any gear. This is a school run friendly hot hatch that entertains its passengers with pops and cackles on overrun.
This one gentleman owner car has covered under 14,000 miles. The car has been meticulously looked after and presents as new. Presented in Frozen white with black interior.
The highly spec’d Focus RS already includes drive modes, launch control, performance shift light, huge Brembo brakes, twin performance exhaust pipes, Sync 2 touchscreen amongst a host more and the following factory configured options; Luxury Pack, 19” forged wheels, Navigation system, door edge protectors and option Frozen white paint.
As part of the head gasket recall on these cars, the previous owner had a new fully dressed engine fitted (November 2017) to the car thanks to his reputation with the Ford dealer. This meant brand new engine, manifolds, turbo, clutch and flywheel.
Why the Focus RS? The go-to Hot Hatch just got better!
The Nissan GT-R needs no introduction, first seen in 2007 the Japanese answer to the Supercar. A project and build taken on by Nissan Motorsports the Nismo benefitted from a host of updates; notably – strengthened chassis, power up to 592 BHP and colossal torque, aerodynamic package and added lightness thanks to carbon fibre panels.

The Pininfarina-designed Ferrari Testarossa is a landmark 1980’s supercar and genuine rival for Lamborghini’s Countach - one of the most recognizable Ferrari’s of all time. The side gill slats and pop-up headlights secured the Testarossa as a proper ‘poster’ car – I certainly had one on my bedroom wall.
This Rossa red example (is there any other colour?) has covered only 12,000 miles since 1989 and has been recently imported back into the UK with original paint and is in very good order.
